The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was just recently broken when more than 250,000 spectators lined the Paseo de la Reforma, which runs through the heart of Mexico City, to watch 1,674-car parade of classic automobiles. To qualify for the parade, the vehicles needed to be at least 30 years old and present the original registration. The previous world record for the largest parade of classic cars was held by Den Hartogh Ford Museum in Hillegom, the Netherlands, back in 2002, which had participation of 948 cars.
All of these cars are technically classics I suppose by definition. 80's Fairmonts, K cars, and LTD's aren't the usual fare to me, but they seem to be popular veteran vehicles in Mexico. Also very interesting to see some of the wacky modifications on these cars, very unlike what I have seen in person at USA and Scandinavian classic car meets!
